I want to expose Canary to as many potential contributors as possible, and bridging to GitHub would allow us to get contributions without needing to make an account on Tebitea.

Gitea-to-GitHub mirroring does not also mirror issues and pull requests. I believe that the absence of this feature reduces the utility of mirroring, so this issue has become low-priority.
